Question: 15 - Explain multiple fission in amoeba.

Answer: Multiple fission in amoeba takes place under unfavourable conditions. In this case, a cyst develops around the cell. After that, the nucleus undergoes multiple divisions to form numerous daughter nuclei. When favourable condition returns, the cyst disintegrates to release the daughter nuclei which are covered with their own individual membranes. They grow to become new amoebae.

Question: 16 - How does geographical segregation lead to speciation?

Answer: If geographical segregation happens for a very long duration, it leads to accumulation of variations over subsequent generations. After hundreds of generation, the organisms of two groups become so different from each other that they are unable to breed with members of each other. This leads to origin of a new species.

Answer: Dentists use concave mirror to see an enlarged image of the tooth. For this, the mirror is placed in a way that the tooth remains between F and P of the mirror. Thus, an enlarged and erect image is formed behind the mirror.
