Founded in 1999 by JGI, JIRS aims include the holistic development of its students in grades four to twelve towards enriching the quality of life. A co-educational, residential school of more than 750 students , we set the highest standards of academic achievement, intellectual growth, ethical awareness and behaviour, sportsmanship and other good qualities to our students.
The School takes leadership seriously and our concern for character is a point of distinction. Our mission has never been narrow to prepare students for college, but rather to provide an experience which goes far beyond college requirements, addressing important personal aspects of growth and maturity. Through the years the means of achieving our aims have changed, yet JIRS size and its particular balance of tradition and innovation continue to provide exceptional opportunities to deserving students from diverse social, geographic and ethnic backgrounds. Our unflagging commitment to each student's intellectual, moral and physical growth and to the considerable resources of faculty, facility and locale creates a school which is larger than the sum of its parts.
JIRS believes in the notion that teachers should take part in student’s lives. JIRS faculty does what the best faculties do: it supports the highest level of academic activity, but it also creates a special form of life for the student. This relationship between students and faculty reaches beyond the classroom and affirms and nurtures the spirit, as it challenges the mind. In this way, the faculty fulfills the founding vision of JIRS. Teachers take up the teaching profession as "their life's work".
Academic Centre is located at the heart of the campus consisting of Air Conditioned Classrooms, Faculty Rooms, Audio – Visual Lecture Halls and Activity Rooms. All classrooms of 850 sq.ft. each are equipped with E-Boards, AV learning aids, High-Precision Projection systems and individualised seating arrangement.
The Library and Laboratory Centre houses all sophisticated & well equipped labs and resources. The library contains extensive collection of books, journals, audio-video CDs and DVDs, latest periodicals and journals. Links with the British Council Library and other major libraries in addition to an easy access facility. An innovative “Library-on-Wheels” feature adds imagination to an already stimulating experience. Students are also marked on book presentations.
