The school has, 5 science laboratories , 1 biotechnology laboratory, 2 mathematics laboratories, 2 language laboratories and 2 audio-visual theatres with multi-media projection systems. Chettinad Vidyashram has Biotechnology as a specialization for class XI & XII students.

It has a well equipped library with books for all the levels of education and can be borrowed with the permission of the librarian.

The 5 lane swimming pool which was built for bringing up the activity of swimming into play has been a platform for students to showcase their swimming talents and to let out stress.

- Our school, Chettinad Vidyashram received the ‘Ideal School Trophy’ by Students Development Society, Pune.
- Headmistress Mrs.C.Bharathi Lakshmi received the Ideal Headmistress award and Mrs. Alice received the Ideal teacher Award.
- Mr. Raja Ponnivelan has been awarded the “Best Commerce Teacher” – award by Sree Guru Kripa Institute of Management for the year 2013. The award was given by Mr. Krishna, IAS (Principal Secretary Planning and development, Government of TamilNadu).
- R Vanishree Shankari received the Best Chemistry Teacher Award instituted by Tata Chemicals. This award is being given to bright, innovative and exemplary Chemistry teachers teaching class XI and XII. She is one of the three in the county to receive the award. She has presented a paper at the National Seminar on Chemistry education and research organized by Annamalai University. She also received “The Best Teacher Award” from the Lions International.
- Precious Manohar and Santhana Lakshmi E were presented with the Dronacharya Award on Teachers day by the Lions club of Madras city for their extraordinary commitment.
- Mr. Ramachandran S of Tamil department had his anthology of tamil poems published recently.
- Mr. Shanmuganathan C P has been selected as a Technical official for swimming and aqua safety for swimming pool by the Karnataka State Swimming Association, Affiliated to the Swimming Federation of India.
