Manipal Hillside Academy, Hyderabad is a coeducational day school affiliated with the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO), Geneva and the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. Founded in 1984, the school was previously known as Roots Hillside School and was managed by the education company, Pearson. The school is now managed by the Manipal Group and has been rechristened as Manipal Hillside Academy.

The school offers day boarding facilities, so that students can make use of the various skill developmental activities after school.

Campus Details

The 2.5 acre school campus hosts a playground for outdoor sports such as cricket, basketball and badminton. The campus also hosts a swimming pool, gymnasium, and facilities for table tennis and carrom.

The school library features a collection of nearly 3000 books, 500 periodicals, 60 reference books and a subscription to several dailies. The school has laboratories for physics, chemistry and biology for the secondary school, and a science lab for the primary school. There are also dance rooms, music rooms and a medical infirmary.

The school, in partnership with Pearson Education Services, provides technology-enabled classrooms. It is equipped with DigiClass solutions Digitally, a content platform that provides e-learning content based on Cognitive Learning Approach for all classes.

In 2012, Manipal Hillside Academy, Hyderabad, was conferred the National School Sanitation Award for attainingBlue Categor under the National School Sanitation Rating.

Admission Details

The schoos admission process usually commences in November and closes in May. Interested parents should arrange a visit to the school by setting up an appointment with the admissions office. Prior to that, they need to collect a registration form from the office and submit it with the required documents.

The age eligibility for nursery is 2 years 5 months as on May 31 of the year of admission, and the age eligibility for class I is 5 years 5 months as on May 31 of the year of admission.

Academics Details

The International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (PYP), designed for children between the ages of 3 and 12, focuses on the overall growth of the developing child, and aims to meet social, physical, emotional and cultural needs of the children along with academics. In the junior school (class I to IV), the school follows a personalized approach for each student and an exclusive and well-designed curriculum to maintain high academic standards.

The schools well-researched school curriculum is based on the Integrated Learning Approach which is an activity-based learning process involving experimentation, self-discovery, high level of engagement and hands-on experience along with exam preparation.
