About School

The Cathedral and John Connon School was founded by the Anglo-Scottish Education Society in Mumbai, in 1860. It began as a humble establishment when Bishop Harding and the Cathedral Chaplain decided to start a small grammar school for boys and one for girls. According to the Education World-C fore Survey of Schools 2012, the school has been ranked as Indis third best day school. In the 1960s, the boys and girls schools were merged to successfully solve the schoos financial and logistical problems.
The school now has 5 sections in Mumbai. Its pre-primary section established in 2002 is housed within the compounds of the St. Thomas Cathedral, Mumbai. The infant school is at Malabar Hill, the junior school at M.G. Road, the middle school at Maharishi Dadichi Marg, and the senior school at P.T. Marg.

Campus Details

The campus has well equipped library, gymnasium, computer centers etc In addition, arts and crafts, singing, yoga, karate classes are conducted and have separate and well equipped rooms. The school also provides lunch to the students at the junior, middle and senior school. A fleet of 55 buses handles the transportation of 1747 students on a daily basis.

Admission Details

Parents seeking admission for their children to the lower first (kindergarten) class needs to register their child after completion of one year of age.
The Following Documents Are Required:
The original birth certificate and a photocopy of the same.
A local cheque favouring "The Anglo Scottish Education Society".
If the parent/parents are ex-students,a photocopy of the school leaving certificate needs to be submitted.
Christians must submit a photocopy of the child's baptism certificate.
1 stamp size photographs each of the child and parents.
Admissions to class I X (ICSE)

Applications for class I to X are accepted at the security desk from 1st September to 31st December. Applications are to be addressed to the principalwith theclass interested in and the contact numbers mentioned very clearly. A copy each of the birth certificate and the latest progress report of the child is to be attached. The last date for submission is 31st December. Late applications are not entertained.

Admissions to class XI (ISC):

Students seeking admission after their X standard should please note the following points: -
Applications are to be made only after the preliminary results are declared.

Attachments required with the application are:
Copy of birth certificate.

Academics Details

The school offers various study options to its students and is affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination, Delhi. This council is approved and recognised by the All India Boards of Secondary Education. The council has two public examinations- the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) at the end of class X and the Indian School Certificate (ISC) at the end of class XII.
College Boards Advanced Placement program is also offered. The students can opt after their class X to either study for the ISC examination or for the AP exams offered by the college board, US.

Extra-curricular activities like sports, debates, and dramatics are given equal importance with teams regularly taking part in inter school, district, zonal, state and national level competitions. Inter- house teams are also formed that promotes healthy competition within the school houses.
Teams for football, basketball, cricket, rugby, throw ball, water polo and squash are present. Students can also participate, in an individual capacity, in sports including badminton, athletics, table tennis, squash, swimming, chess, tennis and gymnastics.
Debates and dramatics are given equal importance with competitions being held in both English and Hindi languages.
